I always wonder how followers of Abrahamic religions came out with the idea of an "invisible god". This Saturday afternoon looking at Budai statue (the Laughing Buddha), I was thinking if a child asks his/her parents: why Budai is out of shape and doesn't go to gym? Then thought maybe having an invisible god was a good idea in the past.
Yesterday morning Facebook reminded me of a post which I wrote 5 years ago. I read the news of the passing of Philip Roth (American author) on this day. He passed away on 22nd May 2018. The Humbling novel was an amazing novel, but I didn't like the movie based on it. I preferred the American Pastoral and Indignation movies but didn't find time to read the novels.
I still have the receipt of his books purchased from bookaliciousmy - a lovely bookstore in Subang Jaya.
I’m strongly dissatisfied with my previous posts, but I wrote them for the sake of practicing writing in English, that’s why I keep them. So, in the future, I can go back and have a butcher’s at them to see my improvement.
